About
Spiritual growth is a lifelong process through which our children learn to make the best use of the many gifts God has given them. Our vision for the children of Custer Road UMC is that they will discover and continue to grow their faith in the Lord.

Giving Back
Do you like to sew and use your creative gifts? If so, Children's Ministries is looking for someone to "create" felt or flannel prayer banners for the 14 Journey rooms upstairs. Contact Debbie Pomponio at dpomponio@crumc.org if you are interested.

Nickels For Nets - Please Help
Elementary children team up to fight malaria by raising $300 for bed nets for children in Africa. Contribute coins to jugs in classrooms and enter a drawing for free T-shirts. Donations can be made upstairs, or by check, with a “Nickels for Nets´ note in the memo area of your check.

About Children's Ministries:
Sunday Mornings
Infants and Toddlers
On Sunday mornings, child care is offered for children under two years old during all three worship services. The nursery department is staffed with paid workers. Prior reservations are not needed on Sunday mornings. Approved volunteers are welcome. Bring a well-stocked diaper bag, including a change of clothes, and label everything that your child brings from home.  Call Eva Graham, 972-686-6343.

Preschool
Sunday school is offered at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. for children 2,3, and 4 years old. Nursery care is provided at 11 a.m. Call or e-mail Lori Dusek, ext. 238.

Elementary
Journey, a rotation-style Sunday school, is offered on the second floor at 8:30 or 9:45 for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Call or e-mail Debbie Pomponio, ext. 235. See class rotation information above.

Children's Information Center
Located on the first floor children's hallway, just outside Fellowship Hall, across from room 119.

Important
Only parents/guardians may sign a child in and out-not brothers or sisters. This is for the child's protection. All volunteers must be 18 years old and have completed a covenant statement and criminal background check. Always note where you can be found when signing in-the Sunday school class name/room number, or your location in the Sanctuary, and give any special instructions or information needed.

When you drop your child off, you will be asked to fill out a three-part sticker with a number on it. The number must be presented in order to pick up your child. You will receive a pager assigned to your child. If we need for you to return to your child's room, you child's number will be posted on our visual pager in the Sanctuary, we will ring your pager, or someone will come get you out of your Sunday school class. Call or e-mail Debbie Pomponio, ext. 235.

Very Important
For other than Sunday morning meetings/events, you must have a child care reservation. Reservations must be made four days in advance of your meeting by calling the Custer Road UMC staff member responsible for that group/event. If your child becomes ill or you will not be able to attend, please cancel any reservation as soon as possible.
Call Lori Dusek, ext. 238.

Illness Policy
Bring only well children. Your child should be free of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or rashes for 24 hours. If your child has a runny nose (other than clear) or a continuous cough, do not bring that child to the nursery. If your child should get sick after being checked into the nursery, we will come get you.

Our Caregivers will not administer prescription drugs or medications of any kind.
