About Us
Vision: The vision of the Children's Ministry of Custer Road UMC is to provide an environment through the power of the Holy Spirit where children will experience God's love and grace and receive a foundation upon which they can become disciples of Jesus Christ.

Children's Special Events has some great opportunities for volunteering. If you are looking for a short-term commitment, here is your chance:-- Make birthday calls monthly from your home to children at Custer Road UMC.
-- Assist youth as they lead a four-week children's Bible study in October for fourth graders at 4 p.m. on Sundays. Curriculum, supplies and games are provided.
-- Help Lydia McMahan with the Girls on the Run program, training for a 3.1K training and curriculum. The event is for third through fifth grade girls from Sept. 13-Nov. 17, Monday and Wednesdays, 3-4:15 p.m.
-- Help with Fall Family Fun Night on Friday, Oct. 29, 6:30-9 p.m., by signing up as leadership-in-charge and volunteer station leaders.
-- Help with A Night In Bethlehem on Friday, Dec. 10, 6:30-8 p.m., by signing up as leadership-in-charge and volunteer station leaders.

Children's Missions
AUGUST CHILDREN'S MISSION: School supply collection to benefit children in need in Collin County. Donate NEW Spiral notebooks, loose-leaf paper, #2 pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, folders with pockets and brads, ballpoint pens and 1”-3” binders. Bring your donation to the second floor Children’s Mission Area or the donation shelves in Fellowship Hall.
SEPTEMBER CHILDREN'S MISSION: Donate new children’s socks/underwear, sizes 3-8, to benefit Head Start children. Bring your donation to the second floor Children’s Mission area or to the donations shelves in Fellowship Hall.
Infants and Toddlers
On Sunday mornings, child care is offered for children under two years old during all three worship services. The nursery department is staffed with paid workers. Prior reservations are not needed on Sunday mornings. Approved volunteers are welcome. Bring a well-stocked diaper bag, including a change of clothes, and label everything that your child brings from home. Call Eva Graham, 972-686-6343.
PreschoolSunday school is offered at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. for children 2,3, and 4 years old. Nursery care is provided at 11 a.m. Call or e-mail Lori Dusek, ext. 238.
Elementary
Journey, a rotation-style Sunday school, is offered on the second floor at 8:30 or 9:45 for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Call Cheryl Bishop. See class rotation information above.
Children's Information Center
Located on the first floor children's hallway, just outside Fellowship Hall, across from room 119.

Camp Big Church - Offered each year in May for children entering kindergarten in the fall. Participants will tour the Sanctuary, meet a minister and practice their best big church manners.
Vacation Bible School - CRUMC offers both daytime and evening vacation Bible school sessions. Children learn about the Bible while enjoying crafts, music, recreation and more. Join us June 20-25, 2010!Teachers are needed for 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. classes.
