RE:  MPKIDS MEETINGS

Our meetings occur the first Wednesday evening of each month during the school year from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Lifetime registration fee for new members is $16 and includes your own Mission Possible Kids t-shirt!

Mission Possible Kids starts up again on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 6:30-8 p.m. Many new and fun missions are planned for this new year. Adult volunteers are needed for each grade-level group, as well as for set-up on the morning of the event. To register or volunteer, contact Debbie Pomponio.

Sowing Seeds for Love

The Mission Possible Kids launched their 2010 year with the mission Sowing Seeds for Love, which gives people in Cameroon, Africa, access to fruit and vegetables that they otherwise would not have. Not only did the agents put together packets to help feed poor families but will also be providing them with vitamins not currently in their everyday diet.

Prayer Garlands for Nursing Homes

The December mission for Mission Possible Kids was to make prayer garlands for nursing homes, friends and themselves. They also made Twizzler packets to hand out at the Plano Children's Parade. The MPKids will be walking with the Custer Road UMC float. Drop off at the parade site, Plano Senior High School, 8:30 a.m. sharp. Pick up at St. Elizabeth Seton's parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Be sure to wear the MPK green t-shirt at the parade! We will be handing out hot chocolate packets and Twizzlers, joined by the Jingle Bell Rockers entertaining the crowds.

Care Blankets for Soldiers

Mission Possible Kids celebrated their last meeting of the school year on May 6 with the making of blankets for injured soldiers. Special guest Corporal Nick Brown of the U.S. Marines spoke with the kids about his experiences in Iraq and how important it is as an injured solider to have family, friends and the church praying for you. Mission Possible Kids have reached 5,200 lives over the last 18 months with their involvement in the community, our country and overseas. As they say at the end of each meeting: Missions; God loves missions; we do missions; we are Mission Possible Kids. They look forward to another year full of mission work next fall.

About Mission Possible Kids:
Mission Possible Kids is a nonprofit organization, offering chapters to churches nationwide. It's a “hands-on” prgram where kids become “special agents” doing God’s work. They have “top secret” briefings, enjoy spy music, and periodically go on “top secret” off-site missions. Kids really CAN change the world!

Here’s what some people touched by Mission Possible Kids have to say:

“Our food pantry was in crisis. Mission Possible Kids collected enough food to not only get us through the holidays but to stock our shelves all winter long!”  - Brian Burton, executive director, Wilkinson Center

“It feels good to know we’re helping people who really need it, especially when we see how many lives we touch with just a few hours of work.” - Devin G., Mission Possible “agent”

“I want to let you know how much I appreciate your creating an opportunity for the children of our church where they can learn to be a service to others. It makes a difference in each child’s life, their parents, grandparents and especially the recipients. Our church is blessed to have MPKids.” - Jennie L., Mission Possible “agent’s” grandparent

Note to Parents: We have lots of volunteer opportunities in MPkids. We really need your help to make this successful. Please click HERE (and scroll down) to learn how you can be fullfilled by God's calling to serve Him by serving others in this great program.
