Job Opportunity Basics

Upcoming Event:

JOB General Session: Reasons Why YOU ROCK!
Tuesday, Aug. 3, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

If you are like most people, you spend a huge amount of time focused on what
you perceive is wrong with you, the mistakes you’ve made, or where you think you have failed in your life – basically, beating yourself up. In doing this, you are failing to recognize and celebrate what you’ve done right and what is amazing about you.Presented by Kathy Light, founder and president of KathyLight International and business coach, you will realize your God-given potential and why it is important to remind yourself of your potential. Contact Taci Kistler, ext. 242.

The JOB ministry is seeking individuals who wish to support those in career transition in our community. Volunteer positions include everything from administrative assistance to team leadership. Anyone who has held a job is qualified! Contact Taci Kistler, ext. 242.

Welcome to the JOB Group!
 Job Opportunity Basics

The JOB career transition support program addresses the needs of anyone in the community looking for a new job after a job loss, preparing to change jobs, facing uncertain job security in the current economic climate, or returning to work after a long period out of the job market. We are pleased to offer our church members, as well as those across the community, professional job search guidance, resources and job leads through this ministry of care. We want to provide free of charge JOB support to anyone needing this type of assistance during times of job search and career transition.

JOB provides job search and career transition support from 6:30-8 p.m. each Tuesday evening in the following format:

     - First Tuesday of the month – general session with guest speaker, FH A/B

     - Second Tuesday of the month – resume preparation, room B12

     - Third Tuesday of the month – interview skills, room B12

     - Fourth and fifth Tuesdays of the month – networking and job search techniques, room B12

By providing career assistance at the same time each week, JOB enables those interested to make it a regular part of their schedule. Custer Road UMC’s career support ministry has provided job leads, career transition support, resume assistance and ongoing networking opportunities to anyone in the surrounding community since 1999. For more information about JOB, call Taci Kistler at 972-618-3450 ext. 242.
