End-of-Summer Bookworms
Thursdays, July 29, 10-11 a.m.

Our librarian, Judy Cravens, reads an exciting book in the church library, followed by a small craft activity and light snack. This event is for three- and four-year-olds. Cost is $5 per child per date.

Sci-Tech Discovery Camps
Tuesdays in August, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Sci-Tech Discovery Center will be presenting five weeks of dynamic, interactive experiences that inspire all kids to embrace discovery and innovation through the exploration of science, math and technology. Keep ready for the new school year by stretching your minds with all their workshops. The cost is $50 per child, open to preschoolers, 3-4 year olds as of June 1, and kindergarteners to fifth graders as of the 2010-2011 school year.

Blessing of the Backpacks
Sunday, Aug. 15, all three services
All children, youth, and adult students are invited to bring their backpacks to church and wear them during a special blessing as we pray for all who are preparing for a new school year.
 
 
 
Girls on the Run
Sept. 13-Nov. 17, Mondays and Wednesdays, 3-4:15 p.m.

Custer Road UMC is taking the reins to improve young girls’ self-esteem and teach healthy living through the Girls on the Run program for third, fourth and fifth grade girls. The Girls on the Run program combines an interactive curriculum and training for a 3.1 mile running event to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles. The curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coach and Custer Road UMC member Lydia McMahan (with the assistance of adult volunteers). Cost for each girl is $100. The number of girls is limited

Day by Day Bible Study
Sundays in October, 4 p.m.
Mark your calendar now: Day by Day Bible Study for fourth graders begins in October, with Bible study, fun and games. The children will be finished in time for Children's Choir at 5 p.m. Registration is coming soon! Contact Debbie Pomponio, ext. 235.
