Throughout the month of January, Custer Road is collecting items for the Agape Resource & Assistance Center. Agape provides critical housing, childcare, transportation assistance, & education towards higher that empower women and their children to transform from crisis and poverty to self-sustaining, fulfilling lives.
What Does Agape Do?:
In its first six years, Agape has provided over 70,000 nights of safe, stable housing and hope for 61 women-led families with 94 children, 85% of which are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or trafficking.
Because they are chronically full, we’ve had to turn away 400 families in 2019 alone. The average stay for Agape families is 12 months. Agape celebrates over 70% of the families served have graduated from Agape with higher-paying jobs, housing they can afford, and they are able to live within their means & provide homes, stability and hope for their children.
The hearts, hands, gifts, and blessings of Custer Road UMC have helped changed each of the 155 lives Agape has touched to date!
