Dear Church Family,
Well, we did it. We closed the books on another school year for our two oldest children this week. This is a bittersweet time each and every year. Obviously, we are thrilled to see them blossom and grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but the final day of school is a concrete reminder of how fast time is passing. Before we know it, our kids will begin to leave the safety of our nest.
As summer begins, we are especially looking forward to our upcoming annual trip to Colorado. We’ll be able to spend a lot of time in the great outdoors, and I’m excited for a chance to slow down a bit and enjoy just being together as a family. I hope you have some time earmarked for family and for relaxation this summer, even if you don’t have kids at home.
This coming Sunday is Trinity Sunday, and we’ll be talking more about the three-fold nature of God and discuss some of the ways in which the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit relate to one another.
On Sunday, May 29th as part of our Memorial Day Weekend services we will be offering a time for everyone in our church to remember their baptisms during a special service of celebration and remembrance.
Finally, if you haven’t heard by now, Rev. Frank Drenner is officially a published author. His book John: A Gospel of a Different Color was a labor of love that is the culmination of years of research, writing, and shared ministry. You can buy a copy of Frank’s book next Sunday, May 29 after church and have the esteemed author sign your copy after in the Fellowship Hall.
I hope to see you Sunday
