LOVE AND SUPPORT
Custer Road UMC follows the great commandments as taught by Our Lord Jesus - “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” - Matthew 22:37-39
We offer multiple opportunities for you to demonstrate the great commandment by volunteering for our programs. We also offer support groups and assistance for our community so that they can receive this love. Email email@example.com or call the church at 972-618-3450 if you have any questions or need additional information.
Would you like to spread the love of Christ to others? Do you want to brighten someone’s day? If you answered yes, YOU would be a perfect addition to our Birthday Call Volunteers. All that is required is a few minutes a day to call congregants on their special day and wish them a Happy Birthday on behalf of Custer Road UMC. Scheduling is flexible. You pick the days each month that you are available and calls can be made in the morning, at noon, or at night. Whenever it is convenient for you.
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday from 7-9pm in Room 204
Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a safe place for adults to share struggles, strengths, hurts and hopes in a Christ-centered recovery process. It is for everyone who wants to take off their mask and experience acceptance, compassion, love, freedom and life-change.
One of our ground rules is “anonymity and confidentiality are required.”
We respect each other’s confidentiality and seek to keep CR a safe place for everyone. Additionally, Celebrate Recovery is for ages 18 and over only. For younger programs, please contact us for referrals.

New Commandment Men's Ministry deploys teams of men that adopt the widowed, single parents and others with long-term needs in our church. These men gather on the second Saturday of the month for prayer and Bible study and then go to serve doing basic household jobs in the home of their care receiver.

PCs are a team of trained lay persons who volunteer to meet the care needs of our church family. They visit retirement homes, rehab centers, nursing facilities, and homes of members who can no longer attend church. They are engaged listeners and offer prayer, encouragement, support and love to those in need. PCs are also trained to administer communion and use anointing oil.
Other than quarterly supervision & education meetings, Partners in Care set their own schedule and determine how many care receivers they are in relationship with. This lay-clergy partnership is vitally important and provides another level of care to our church family.
Become a Partner in Care: Every Partner in Care must fill out an application. Then, upon acceptance, complete a 7 -session training that equips them with all the tools they need to effectively serve others. Find the application here.
