Our Special Needs programs welcome your support:
Birthdays and Anniversaries: Parents receive gift certificates for dining on their birthdays or anniversaries and look forward to their respite evening (Friday NITE Friends) that fall in the month of these special occasions.
Holiday Party: Our annual Friday NITE Friends Holiday party in December. We provide gifts for the parents and children, dinner and entertainment. This is a special evening when families are able to visit and make friends with other families. Help is always needed providing gifts, food, drink, serving and clean up.
Special Events: Our children love bounce houses, petting zoos and puppet shows. You or your group are welcomed to sponsor an event for Friday NITE Friends.
Toys and Supplies: We can always use new or gently used games, puzzles and books for children of all ages in our Friday NITE Friends and Sunday Morning Friends programs. Videos, video games, art supplies and craft projects are a big hit too! Think of us when your children outgrow the toys. If you would like to organize a craft night for Friday NITE Friends, just let us know.
Workshops: In connection with Our Children’s House at Baylor, Custer Road UMC hosts workshops for parents, caregivers and educators on subjects helpful to those who love and work with special needs children.
