Colossians 3:17 (NIV): “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it All In the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Finding a healthy balance in our lives can be a challenge. From a career perspective, the term work-life balance is often used, which we believe is the balance between our faith, family, friends, health and career. When we commit or promise to someone that we will do something, we do all we can to fulfill that commitment. In other words, we are “all in” to meeting our promises. The challenge comes when we commit to many someones, and we become overwhelmed, and perhaps stressed at times. We become consumed in meeting our commitments at the expense of losing the balance with the other aspects of our lives.
Balance is not better time management but, it is better boundary management. Building a relationship with God and allowing Him to guide our choices that align with His purpose for us will enable us to discern the commitments we make while also managing boundaries and balance.
Balance, peace, and joy are the fruit of a successful life. It starts with recognizing your talents and finding ways to serve others by using them – Thomas Kinkade
Dear God, Guide and direct our steps. Allow us to be in your ways of wisdom, reconciliation, and peace so that we are able to make commitments with integrity, wholeness, and well-being and maintain your purpose-filled balance. We ask in Jesus’ holy name. Amen
