The Apostle John, a follower of Jesus Christ and witness to the crucifixion wrote Revelation while a prisoner on the Island of Patmos in approximately 85-95 A.D. The purpose of John’s writing served to give encouragement and hope for all Christians continue watching for the return and triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ. It also serves a warning the final judgment that we all face. Utilizing a variety of literary genres, apocalyptic, prophecy and epistle, this fascinating and at times perplexing book continues to urge all who read to stay focused on Jesus Christ and His ultimate victory.
