Our annual Alternative Gift Market returns in November! Join us and get your Christmas shopping done early!
Christmas is meant to be celebrated, not regretted! We all want our Christmas to be full of joy, memories, happiness and above all, we want it to be about Jesus. What we don’t want is for our Christmas to be full of stress, or debt, or feel like we “missed the moment”.
Are you tired of giving dust-catchers? Do you ever see your loved one actually wear the shirt you gave them? Want to avoid the crowds at the malls? You can do all of this by giving a meaningful mission gift to your loved one AND giving a gift to someone in need.
Christmas is a season of gratitude for gifts, especially the gift of Jesus from our loving God. We seek to imitate God in our gift-giving at this time of year. This Christmas, consider giving a different kind of gift, a gift that gives twice. Give to your loved one, a handmade piece of jewelry, basket or nativity set, a certificate for clean water or to support Bed Start. Bed Start will have two opportunities this year for all those who elect to support this amazing organization. The Christmas tree with ornament options will be present again. Each ornament represents an item Bed Start would like to provide to those in need, but is not purchased with Bed Start funds. These include basic items such as a set of dishes, silverware, towels. Without donations, these items are typically not provided at all. New this year will be a special t-shirt that may be purchased in conjunction with an offer to serve. The shirt will highlight the Bed Start logo and mission statement. Buy one for yourself and wear it to serve on a Saturday or Wednesday. Better yet – buy one for a friend and yourself and come serve together. $25 minimum gift to receive a t-shirt. When you do, your gift helps someone in need – a hungry family, a struggling child, a Third World artisan. Your giving can transform the world!
