Esperanza 5K

The Esperanza 5K is a morning of fitness and fun the whole family, runners and non-runners alike, will enjoy. The Esperanza 5K Run will be on a new course this year, but still flat, fast and USTAF certified, for both runners and walkers.

The first 450 finishers in the 5K Run will receive a ceramic medal hand painted by the Mission Possible Kids at Custer Road UMC. Prizes will be given to the overall male and female 5K finishers, as well as awards for the top three male and female finishers in standard age categories. Youth under age 18 can register at a reduced rate. Children are welcome in the 5K Run if their abilities are sufficient.

Packet Pick Up:

Eggsperanza Family Festival
The FREE Eggsperanza Festival features complimentary breakfast tacos, bounce houses, face painting, clowns, balloon animals, a special visit with the Easter Bunny, and concludes with an Easter Egg Hunt and Cascarone (confetti egg) Celebration.

Eggsperanza 1 Mile Family Fun Color Run:
Family Fun 1 Mile Color Run, suitable for even the youngest children if accompanied by a parent, is a family friendly hop down the bunny trail taking place in conjunction with the Esperanza 5K. Registration is required for all participants. Each participant will receive a white race t-shirt and sunglasses at packet pick up. Each racer will also receive a ceramic medal once they cross the finish line. Children in strollers are welcome in both events and are not required to register. Register for the 1 Mile Family Fun Color Run online  here or in person at Custer Road on Sundays, March 26 and April 2.
Will the color wash off of skin/hair?
Yes! The easiest way to get it off is while it’s still dry (shake, wiggle, jump up and down, vacuum, etc). After that, soap and water, with a little rinse and repeat action will do the trick. We advise you to bring a towel for the seats in your car if you’d like.

What if the color gets into your eyes?
We highly encourage you to wear your sunglasses or the sunglasses we are providing to you as you will look way more cool and it will greatly reduce the chances of colors getting into your eyes. However, never fear, the color is non-toxic. A simple rinse with water will take care of you.

Can you eat the colors?
We do not recommend it! Even though it is only corn starch with food dyes and therefore will not harm you, it will taste about like colored dirt would. We recommend wearing it, not ingesting it.
