The Collin County Committee on Aging is collecting Harvest Boxes for senior citizens in its Meals on Wheels Program that will be delivered to them in the month of November. Again, this year the boxes are important for seniors who are staying home due to the Covid-19 virus. Custer Road’s goal is to collect at least 150 boxes! Flyers with the items requested are available by clicking on the button below.
Interested volunteers should print a flyer, collect the non-perishable food items, as well as extras such as dried fruit, postage stamps and large print puzzle books; package them in a box and return them to the church. Please use boxes about the size of a box of printer paper. Boxes decorated for the season are appreciated by the seniors. Boxes can be returned during the week to the Mission Donation Area September 5 and no later than September 27, noon.
Please contact Tom Hutson with any questions and discover how easy it is to brighten the season for someone who might otherwise have to do without.
