He Is Risen!

Easter Sonrise Service

Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame.
Who could carry that kind of weight?
It was my tomb, ‘til I met You.
I was breathing, but not alive,
All my failures I tried to hide.
It was my tomb, ‘til I met You.

You called my name
Then I ran out of that grave,
Out of the darkness, into Your glorious day.

Verse 2
Now Your mercy has saved my soul,
Now Your freedom is all that I know,
The old made new, Jesus, when I met You,
whoa, what a day,

I needed rescue, my sin was heavy,
But chains break at the weight of Your glory.
I needed shelter, I was an orphan,
But You call me a citizen of Heaven.
When I was broken, You were my healing,
Now Your love is the air that I’m breathing.
I have a future, my eyes are open.

LEADER: At early dawn, women came to the tomb and found the stone rolled away! They went in, they did not find the body.

ALL: Christ is Risen!

Two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them and said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.”

ALL: Christ is Risen Indeed!

The women shared the Good News with the apostles and with us. Today, on this morning, You called our name, so we can run out of our grave, out of our darkness and into Your glorious day. Because you, Jesus, paid it all!

ALL: Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

Let us praise the one who paid our debt and raises life up from the dead, as we worship in Spirit and Truth. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Hymn of Praise

Verse 1
I hear the savior say, Thy strength indeed is small.
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
find in me thine all in all.

Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe,
Sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow.

Verse 2
Lord, now indeed I find, thy power and thine alone,
Came and changed the lepers spots
And it melt the heart of stone.

Verse 3
And when before the throne, I stand in him complete
Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat.

Oh, praise the one who paid my debt
And raises life up from the dead!

Pastoral Prayer & Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

John 20:1-18

In Christ Alone
Rev. Dr. Jack Wallace

In Christ Alone Keith Getty | Stuart Townend

Verse 1
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light my strength my song
This Cornerstone this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love what depths of peace
When fears are stilled when strivings cease
My Comforter my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

Verse 2
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

Verse 3
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

Verse 4
No guilt in life no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
