Thank you to everyone for your support of our Spring Creek Village Ministry. We began by serving 2400 meals in this community of Thomas Elementary. We saw that the need there is great! After PISD began serving the grab and go meals, we decided to help make their Easter Sunday special. We served Easter Sunday lunch to 375+ people, provided 160 Easter baskets and 1000+ books were provided. The love of Jesus Christ was truly on the faces of those who served, as well as those being served.
The Salvation Army has graciously accepted a connection with Custer Road UMC for the next few months to provide food boxes to 60 families in need. Our POWS team will help finish the assembly of NTFB boxes at the Salvation Army with perishable items and then they will distribute at SCV.
We have also asked congregation members to donate masks and will have that commitment filled this week!
How can you help?
- First, please be in prayer for these families as they struggle with family unity and with their financial needs.
- Second, to help the families with their financial needs, we provide Walmart gift cards to them. The families range in size from 3 people to 11 people. Monetary donations/Walmart gift cards are needed. Please donate online through our website here and indicate Spring Creek Village Ministry. You can drop off Walmart gift cards in the mailbox in the front of the church in an envelope marked: Stephanie Mills/SCV Ministry.
- Last, we are in need of individuals who would like to serve in this ministry by handing out gift cards. Please contact Lanie Williams via email if you’d like to help.
