I have always been involved with children and music. When I was in high school I did music for the elementary Sunday school kids every week. I was in a singing group in college that toured Missouri to recruit for Central Methodist College – we wrote our own music! I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music – Piano Performance. I married Tim Morrison and began helping him with the children’s choirs at Terrell UMC. After we decided to come to Custer Road I began building my piano studio teaching from our apartment. I helped with children’s choirs and tours long before I was employed by the church. I taught music in a Montessori school for 9 years. When an opportunity came to be involved in a more professional way in the Children’s choirs I decided to stop teaching in the Montessori school and focus on piano and children’s music ministry. I have always sung and played the piano – it is a blessing to be able to do what I love every day. I have taught bible study here at Custer Road UMC off and on in the 30 years we have been here. I am blessed that Tim has had such longevity here. It has allowed our family to really make Texas home. Custer Road continues to bless us and allow us to continue to serve. I don’t know what God has planned for me in the next 10 years. I try to remain open to new opportunities and blessings.
